For this reason a woman ought to have authority over her head, because of the angels 1 Corinthians 11:10
I came across this video from our Orthodox brother Priest. I found it to be beautiful and profound and it reminded me of what the Venerable Fulton Sheen once said;
“To a great extent the level of any civilization is the level of its womanhood. When a man loves a woman, he has to become worthy of her. The higher her virtue, the more noble her character, the more devoted she is to truth, justice, goodness, the more a man has to aspire to be worthy of her. The history of civilization could actually be written in terms of the level of its women.”
What I didn’t understand is that the level of woman stretches far beyond the earthly realm and into heaven, for the sake of the angels, let woman be glorified;
Mary has the authority over the angels and the blessed in Heaven. As a reward for her great humility, God gave her the power and mission of assigning the thrones made vacant by the apostate angels who fell away through pride. Such is the will of the almighty God who exalts the humble, that the powers of Heaven, earth, and hell, willingly or unwillingly, must obey the commands of the humble Virgin Mary. For God has made her Queen of Heaven and earth, leader of his armies, keeper of his treasure, dispenser of his graces, mediatrix on behalf of men, destroyer of his enemies, and faithful associate in his great works and triumphs. – Saint Louis Marie de Monfort

In Genesis 2:7 “then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” The Hebrew word for fertile dirt or dust is ădāmâ. From this, Adam was given his name, for he came from God, breathing life into the dirt formed into his image.
The Woman was not made directly of the dust and clay of the earth but from the flesh of man already crafted into the image and likeness of God (before the fall). God took an existing image and likeness of himself and further refined it to better reflect his Love and beauty. Eve is that which precedes an event. Hence, we have Christmas Eve, which comes before Christmas. The first Woman preceded all future children, and hence she was named “Eve”. It may well be that God saved the best for last, for it is a woman who is the greatest of all Saints, Mary, the mother of God. Jesus got his flesh from this woman who, being without sin (conceived by special grace), was therefore made to be God’s best Image and Likeness – to the Point of giving us God himself.
In Matthew 7:16-20 we read, “By their fruits, you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. So by their fruits you will know them.”
It is no coincidence that the words “Blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus” are addressed to Mary. If we are to know a person by their Fruit, we must recognize Mary by the fruit of her womb, Jesus. When a girl is conceived while still in her mother’s womb, her ovaries form every egg she will ever have. Mary carried the seed of Jesus since before she herself was born. It is no wonder she was immaculately conceived and born without sin, as she held the seed of God’s humanity from her very beginnings.
