Divine Child Jesus Adoration of Families, be ever-present in our hearts as our most precious treasure. Bless and protect us so that we may be a reflection of your goodness for our family, our friendships, and all our other relationships. May we humble ourselves, becoming childlike, and always look to the Father in Heaven for encouragement and guidance.
Jesus, we turn to you in this time of great attack on families and the dignity of the human person. Together with your Most Blessed Mother Mary and your Adoptive Father Saint Joseph, we invite you to dwell in our home, amongst the members of our own domestic church. Teach us to grow in virtue in our life together as family. May we hold tight to childlike wonder and trust in the Will of the Father above all else. May you always be the source of life for our family.
Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we beg of you to come to our assistance with this specific request (mention your intentions here). As St Joseph lifted you up into his arms, holding you next to his heart, may we too keep you close to our hearts. DIVINE CHILD OF CREATION
O Most Holy Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we turn to you today as the Creator of the world, the Creator of humankind, the Creator of each one of us that you have placed in this family. Although we may not realize it every day, our lives are in your hands and each one of us was created in your image and likeness. Divine Child, give us a deeper awareness of our inherent dignity that was given to us before we were even knit into our mother’s womb. Teach us to stand as witnesses to the dignity of our own unique human nature and always walk alongside us as we journey through the ups and downs of this life. Help us to turn away from sin which harms all of creation. May we always keep in the forefront of our minds and hearts our eternal home in Heaven where you have prepared a place for us to live and be with you forever.
DAY 2
DIVINE CHILD OF LIFE
O Most Holy Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we turn to you today as the giver of all life. All things were given life by the very breath of the Holy Spirit. As we look around this world, amidst the chaos and confusion that surrounds us, may we notice your living breath that flows throughout all things. Divine Child, all of creation was made to seek and fight for life, which the Evil One seeks to destroy. Show us the way to breathe your life into a world that is living in darkness, to a world that is in pain and sorrow, to a world that is full of anxiety and fear. Lord, we need your life-giving grace to abound, to renew us, to strengthen us, and to lead us, so that we may be filled with your peace. Purify our hearts so that we may bear good fruit, starting within our family and rippling out to our community, our nation, and eventually the whole world.
DAY 3
DIVINE CHILD OF LIGHT
O Most Holy Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we turn to you today as the beacon of hope in the darkness. In a world that is so broken and wounded, it can seem that the darkness has won. But the truth is that your light will never be overcome by the darkness, for through your cross and resurrection Christ has already won the victory. As children made for the light, may we always seek to let your light shine upon our own dark places, revealing our wounds and allowing your healing grace to renew us. May the burdens we have been carrying with us all along never be kept hidden in the dark where the Evil One wishes to keep them. Instead, give us the courage and the strength to allow your light to shine upon our wounds so that we may be fully restored by your forgiveness and grace. Divine Child, never cease strengthening us in your glory so that we may be your light for all those we encounter in our life.
DAY 4
DIVINE CHILD OF JOY
O Most Holy Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we turn to you today as the pure joy of our lives. While the world offers us a disordered version of joy that can never actually fill us, we must continue to turn to you in order to find lasting peace and the fullness of joy. The deepest longing of our hearts is to be filled with your grace alone; all else will fail in comparison. Divine Child, you are the giver of all good gifts. Your gift of joy is freely given to us when we seek it with a pure heart. Today we ask you to infuse our souls with the fullness of your joy, that is true and lasting. This is what we were made for, this is who we were made to be, children of your unending joy.
DAY 5
DIVINE CHILD OF SORROW
O Most Holy Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we turn to you today as the child of the passion. Since you are the source of all love and goodness, wherever there is a lack of love, there is an absence of you, thus sorrow exists. Knowing the fullness of the gifts you wish to bestow upon each one of us, when there is a block to our receiving those gifts, your sorrowful heart cries out in mercy, because you want nothing more for us than to be who you created us to be, infused with your grace. Divine Child, your entire life was a journey toward the sacrifice on the cross. The sorrow for all of humanity was felt with agonizing pain by you, but you endured it, knowing that through your sacrifice the debt of sin would be paid and the gift of freedom would be won for all humankind. Help us to find the courage to continue on in our sorrow and pain, so that through our uniting ourselves to your redeeming cross, we may have a share in the victory of your resurrection.
DAY 6
DIVINE CHILD OF HEALING
O Most Holy Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we turn to you today as the Divine Healer. As the author of all life, you also had the power to heal all wounds, to dispel all darkness, and to cast out all evil spirits. As a true gentle shepherd, you never impose yourself upon any one of us, but instead you wait, respecting our free will, until we invite you into our lives. When a soul surrenders their will to your Divine Will it is no easy task, nor is it a one time event. Instead it is a lifelong re-surrendering over and over again until it becomes a perpetual offering of our lives to you. Lord, with each new surrender, your healing touch comes upon us and our hearts are made new once again. Divine Child, we ask that you heal our family today beginning with the personal healing of each member. Heal all those who are afflicted with pain or illness. Heal those with mental or psychological disorders. Heal those who are struggling spiritually or emotionally. Heal all of our relationships with one another, as we seek to forgive those who have offended us the most, so that we will open ourselves up to full reconciliation with one another. May we all be fully reconciled with you, our Divine Physician and Healer.
DAY 7
DIVINE CHILD OF PURIFICATION
O Most Holy Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we turn to you today seeking purification of our bodies, our souls and our minds. While forgiveness is the first step toward purification, the next step is a much deeper journey that will lead us into an even deeper union with the Triune God. As we begin this work of full renewal of ourselves as children of God, help us to always be aware of your presence as you walk alongside us. Divine Child, we ask you to lead us in all gentleness as our soul is purified. Each time that we purge from our body and soul all that is not of God, may we more fully realize your unending love for us so that we will begin to live as if you mean everything to us. As we let go of all the things of this world, help us to never turn back to the things of this world, but live more fully in your Kingdom.
DAY 8
DIVINE CHILD OF THE KINGDOM
O Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we turn to you today as children of the Kingdom of God. You ushered in this Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven beginning with the Annunciation. By reaching down from Heaven to become man, you humbled yourself to share in our humanity, so that we may be lifted up to share in your Divinity. Your Kingdom is the inheritance of all your children. Reveal to us the fullness of your purpose and destiny for us so that we may live with you as our eternal King. Teach us the principles of Your Kingdom so that we may be able to live our lives in the fullness of truth and love. Divine Child, through our covenant made with You may we always know who we are and whose we are, beloved children of the Triune God. As we walk through our day, may our witness be an inspiration for all your beloved children, so that they may know that your inheritance is greater than anything this world can offer.
DAY 9
DIVINE CHILD OF SAINTHOOD
O Divine Child Jesus, Adoration of Families, we turn to you today as the source of sainthood. All that is good and holy comes from you, the source of goodness. All that we know to be holy in the Saints is from you, the source of all holiness. When we venerate the Saints, we are actually venerating you in and through them. If they are good, it is your goodness shining through. All the gifts and graces the Saints have been given are available to each one of us as well, if only we would surrender our will to yours. Divine Child, we trust in you. Help us to seek you in all things and follow where you are leading us with a pure and humble heart. Teach us to live in the moment and have faith that the future will bring its own grace when the trial comes. May we truly lean on your Saints in Heaven who each illuminate an aspect of your goodness that we can learn from. Help us to more fully understand who you are and who you created us to be through the lives of the Saints in Heaven.
CHAPLET TO THE CHILD JESUS
The chaplet consists of fifteen beads attached to a medal of the Holy Infant. Prayers include three Our Father’s in honor of the Holy Family, twelve Hail Mary’s in memory of the childhood of Jesus Christ, and three Glory Be‘s.
On the medal, say either “Holy Infant Jesus, bless and protect us!” or “Divine Infant Jesus, I adore your cross; and I accept all the crosses you will be pleased to send me. Adorable Trinity, I offer you, for the glory of the holy name of God, all the adorations of the sacred heart of the holy Infant Jesus.”
On each of the three beads, say “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us” and pray an Our Father.
On each of the twelve beads, say “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us” and pray a Hail Mary.
