When Jesus had come down from the mountain, great crowds followed him; and there was a leper who came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you choose, you can make me clean.” He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I do choose. Be made clean!” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8:1-3

Our world has everything backwards. It views purity as health and beauty for our eyes to see. It misses out on the interior purity of a heart that loves. We have all watched for months as our society has deteriorated. Riots, hatred, and pandemic madness have taken hold of the vast majority of society. People are regularly judging and condemning one another. It is the antithesis of Christ; an anti-Christ mentality.

Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Those who believe in him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:17-18

Vaccines and masks and whatever else you want to throw in the mix are all distracting us from Christ. We are viewing other people as diseases instead of persons made in the Image and Likeness of God. Mandates that violate our conscience are distracting us from Christ. The question becomes, in the midst of all of this, can we love as he loves? I think for most of us the answer is no. Or perhaps, not yet.

I pray, “Lord make me into another you. May you dwell within me. May I love as you love. Show me how.”

How do we fight for what’s right? I look to your Holy Face, Jesus. I stand in the way of evil, but I do not return evil for evil.

You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:43-48

This is the perfection of God. There was no caveat to this. Jesus didn’t say love your enemies except when it’s really really hard. Are we even trying to attain the perfection of God? Diabolical forces are trying to distract us from it and suck us into apostasy. We see the world closing in and we lose faith in the God who loves us. But Jesus is the Way. His light spreads in the darkness when His light is seen inside of us.

Right now my parish has a mission being run by the Fathers of Mercy. This order of Priests is able to preach the word with astonishing clarity.

We have had adoration every night. Last night in adoration I closed my eyes and pictured myself like Saint Peter, in the boat, seeing Jesus walking on water. I looked straight ahead and I could see Jesus. As I looked to the left and right I saw waves and heavy rain, they sometimes bore demonic faces. Jesus called to me. I told him I was scared. And then I felt her grab my hand. The hand of purity, the hand of Our Mother. She covered me in her mantle. The wind, rain and waves bounced off of her mantle as she whispered, “keep your eyes on Jesus, see Him in every person you come across.” I stepped out onto the water and the water was like foam blocks holding my feet up firmly. I made it to Our Lord. I could see their hearts glowing with the light of love. Sacred and Immaculate, they call me Beloved. We have no idea of the love that’s in store for us. We have no idea of the goodness to come.

I have always been fascinated by the Saints, particularly the ones that willingly walked into the storm without fear. Saint Damien of Molokai walked into the leper colony, seeing Christ in all of them. He did not see disease. He saw Christ. He risked his own health for the sake of others. He KNEW Christ. I think of this a lot as I see the madness unfold around us. We have forgotten who we are and from whom we came. We have forgotten our call to Sainthood.

We have Christ present physically at every Mass. The more we receive in a state of grace, the more we can be transformed into Him. May he make our hearts one with His. May He purify us totally and completely. May the God of peace be in our hearts.
