Two Eves converge

Scene from the Passion of Christ by Mel Gibson

Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala.  When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”  Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your Mother.”  And from that hour the disciple took her into his home….But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs but one soldier thrust his lance into his side, and immediately blood and water flowed out. John 19:25-27 and 33-34

At the foot of the Cross two Eves converge.

One saved before she was conceived.

One conceived because of the sacrifice of the cross where blood and water flowed.

One the greatest Saint ever known.

The other birthed by the God of love to form Saints.

One is a gift to the other.  An example, of perfect humility to help guide the other.

Erasing the sin of the original Eve, o happy fault that gave to us a Redeemer.

Two Eves converge.  One assumed into heaven and one an earthly authority.

Let them each guide you.  Mother church and the Blessed Mother given to us to take into our homes.
