Velocity Speeds Up

God answers Job from the whirlwind – 1803

Flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not retain their strength,  nor shall the mighty save their lives; Those who handle the bow shall not stand, and those who are swift of foot shall not save themselves, nor shall those who ride horses save their lives; and those who are stout of heart among the mighty shall flee away naked on that day, says the Lord. Amos 2:14-16

Patience is a virtue and it seems the past several years patience has been harder and harder for most people. Frustration fills the air. There is something about this time period we’re living in – everything seems to have sped up, especially since the advent of smart phones. I have no doubt most of this velocity is brought about by Satan, so as to distract us from keeping our eyes on Jesus.

You can bet Peter sank because of the velocity of the wind which distracted him when he had been looking at Christ and walking on water.

Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat, started walking on the water, and came toward Jesus.  But when he noticed the strong wind, he became frightened, and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Matthew 14:28-30

Satan will do anything to keep us from looking at Christ. He especially will do this to those whom he knows actually pray. He will make us so busy, so frustrated, so distracted that we take our eyes off of Christ and sink into the details of our daily life. We can’t see past the minutiae in order to start walking again. Despair can take over. We can begin to believe that God doesn’t see us.

When we find this happening to ourselves, our thoughts get more frenzied, our language gets worse, and soon our actions become a pathway to hell. I have noticed the “F” word fly, even among Christians due to the frustrations of technology, or the frenzied schedule of life. This word, though people debate the etymology, has it’s roots in copulation. Demons love this word because it can keep the cycle of delving into impurity going, it feeds impure thoughts. Impure thoughts feed impure words which feeds impure actions.

The man of impure speech is a person whose lips are but an opening and supply pipe which hell uses to vomit its impurities upon the earth. – Saint John Vianney

We are at a precipice and must be working towards stopping this cycle that distracts us from true love. I believe COVID was a warning. We had an opportunity to slow down, but instead we buried ourselves in virtual reality and became worse towards one another. Real reality passed us by.

When evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land.  When he saw that they were straining at the oars against an adverse wind, he came toward them early in the morning, walking on the sea. He intended to pass them by. Mark 6:47-48

In the passage in Mark, the Apostles cry out to him in their fear when they see him, did we do the same? Did we refocus back on Christ?

This opportunity to slow down, it gives God the opportunity to go big, for his speed is swifter than any demon.

By his wind the heavens were made fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent Job 26:13

God will part a sea if we sit still.

But Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid, stand firm, and see the deliverance that the Lord will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you see today you shall never see again.  The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.” Exodus 14:13-14

It is imperative in this time of distraction, that we become a people of prayer who act only when the Lord says and who wait on the Lord.

but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

This does not mean not to act, it means to wait for the Lord to tell you how to act.

The other day in my journal I wrote what I felt the Lord speak to me (for your discernment);

September 27, 2022

Beloved Lily of the Father,

Lead us not into temptation; what you are praying for is protection. You are praying for the “garden of your soul” be “kept” so the serpent doesn’t get in. You’re praying for the consequence of concupiscence to be blotted out; so you aren’t just forgiven, but delivered and restored.

(Redacted)

Prayer is communion.

As velocity speeds up due to the evil one, you should slow down and wait for me. Prostrate yourself before me. I will fight for you.

Those who endure never stop praying. They are righteous in following the law but sanctified by love, that is, by their heart which is open to me.

Cease striving and know that I AM.

If you wait and listen I will command what needs to be done. When you wait for me your strength will be renewed.

Stand firm.

You will behold the wonder of not just the law, but of the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Return to worship and rest. Make your life an act of worship. You shall be restored. Trust.

Abba

So my friends, let us not get so frustrated and distracted that Christ passes us by. Let us pray more and wait on the Lord for right action. Don’t get impatient if he doesn’t answer right away. He is stronger and faster than anything we can imagine and His timing is perfect.

“I know that you can do all things and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted. ‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me that I did not know. ‘Hear, and I will speak; I will question you, and you declare to me.’
 I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you;  therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.” Job 42:2-6

    This entire message is spot on! Yesterday I spent 3 quiet hours in the beauty & solitude of nature with my horse—praying & just being. My life slowed down, away from technology.
    As I reflected & remembered, I was reedeemed,reconciled, restored, reassured, & rested.
    Today I give thanks for peace to better listen & hear God.

    On Friday 9/30, I too heard (Exodus 14:14)…
    The LORD will fight for you; you have only to keep still.”

    Thank you for this. We have been praying about something and just felt God saying “keep the status quo” which is so hard because our hearts want to act now! Isn’t that the hardest thing for we humans, to just wait, be patient? This beautiful reflection helps tremendously — to stay prayerful and vigilant.

    Thanks Susan. These words that I need to hear right now are bringing me comfort and trust. Not to be afraid for we all have a good good Father. Blessings and peace to you and your family

  5. Exodus 14:14 came to me as well last week when fear threatened to attack. From that verse, I derived the courage I needed from heaven to reject the fear which comes from the world. But thank you for bringing this back again, Susan. We can never be reminded enough.

    My sweet children, thank you for having answered my call in your heart and thank you for bending your knees in prayer. My children, so many are my tears for those who do not understand, do not believe, blaspheme and do not convert, I, as a Mother, want to save all my children. My Jesus is bestowing many graces, but often you are more attracted to the things of the world that invite you to perdition and you do not notice the beautiful things that you have every day, unfortunately pride and arrogance accompany you. Children, teach your children the recitation of the Holy Rosary. My children, I ask you to go to the streets of the world to proclaim the Gospel, tell everyone that Jesus will soon return and you will have to be prepared. Now, I bless you in the name of the Holy Trinity, amen.

    I enjoyed this post, however I had heard from other prophecies that the devil had been given this time to try to destroy the Church (which he will not be able to do). Also, that this time of tribulation has been shortened due to the intervention of the Blessed Mother who received a special gift from the Father. He told her that we had to go thru this period but He would shorten it because of the remnant. Matt 24:22 in which Jesus tells us that the end times would be shortened so that the elect would not be deceived. The devil would love this time of deceit and evil to go on and on and on. He loves to torment us!! God Bless!!

  8. PHILLIP FRANK says:

    “Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
        while you may be found;
    surely the rising of the mighty waters
        will not reach them.
    You are my hiding place;
        you will protect me from trouble
        and surround me with songs of deliverance.” (Psalm 32 6-7).

    “Be still before the LORD; wait for God. Do not be provoked by the prosperous, nor by malicious schemers. Those who do evil will be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD will possess the land.”(Psalm 37)

    “This fight in which we find ourselves… [against] powers that destroy the world, are spoken of in Chapter 12 of Revelation… It is said that the dragon directs a great stream of water against the fleeing woman, to sweep her away… I think that it is easy to interpret what the river stands for: it is these currents that dominate everyone, and want to eliminate the faith of the Church, which seems to have nowhere to stand before the power of these currents that impose themselves as the only way of thinking, the only way of life.” —POPE BENEDICT XVI, first session of the special synod on the Middle East, October 10th, 2010

    in the land of the living!
    14 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    yea, wait for the Lord!
